Bedroom 1
This bedroom just needed a bit of life and new blinds. Sadly it is a smaller room than 2 or 3 but does have the advantage of a full ensuite with separate shower plus a dressing area that needs work! The dressing area is just a bunch of shelves and rack and really is crying out for fitted wardrobes. That will be a job for the future when I have the money (after selling my current house)
I ended up painting the two walls (plus the one wall in the bathroom) twice. I started with such a pale blue it was almost light translucent grey. Hated it when done so off to the Dulux centre for a different paint and this was the result.
Then it was over to my slow decorator to wallpaper the other two walls. Finally finished
I also painted a wall in the bathroom and had the flooring replaced before moving on to Bedroom 2 (Link at end)
The next job in the master area was to replace the shower door which was not only hung the wrong way but had the seals on the wrong side of the door and was leaking and damaging the floor. After having the flooring replaced I certainly did not want any more damage.
After moving in I had problems with the toilet (allegedly fixed but not but a previous plumber). The flush mechanism stopped working. On going downstairs to use that toilet I found water pouring in through the light fitting. New plumber contacted. He fixed the main issue but pointed out that there was a small leak that was known about because it had been bodged with silicone. Unfortunately to fix properly this needs the bathroom pulling apart as there is no access panel. A job for another day methinks.
The bedroom is almost complete. I am in and functioning but hoping to move the chest of drawers over this weekend. The have the drawers so can survive for the time being.
UPDATE
All now moved over but since moving in I have had plumbing problems with the toilet leaking. The only way to fix this permanently is to rip that part of the bathroom apart as it has been boxed in with no access panel. This was clearly a known issue as masses of silicone has been applied to the underside of the toilet. I am reluctant to do this currently as have only just had new flooring put down. This toilet is currently out of use as it can lead to water leaking through the ceiling and into the light fixing in the downstairs toilet.
